Socio-economics of surgery in Senegal
3B IMPACT is collaborating with the Senegalese Consortium pour la Recherche Economique et Sociale (CRES), University of Sheffield and Vivid Economics to research the economics of the surgery market in Senegal. We do this by:- Exploring social and economic barriers to surgery access to inform the surgical charity Mercy Ships as part of a project funded by the UK Department for International Development. This builds on our earlier work with Mercy Ships on its long-term impact and sustainability, and seeks to contribute to approaches to health systems strengthening in Senegal and beyond.
